Mallory Wheeler of Newburgh, who has Leukemia, was a local wish
recipient from “Wish Upon a Star” for a trip to Disney
World.
Mallory, 9, her 6-year-old sister, Samantha, and her
parents, Robin and Sheridan Wheeler, left on a flight last Monday morning
to Disney's Child Village for Mallory's “Wish” trip.
Carl Wallace,
a co-founder of Wish Upon a Star, and Jack Raibley, a board member of the
organization, came to see her off as she boarded the plane. Wish Upon a
Star, Inc. and the West Side Nut Club in Evansville financed the trip for
the family.
At Disney's property, Mallory was treated like a little
princess for the six days that they were there.
Her favorite Disney character, Mulan, came to their room and ate supper
with her and then came back to tuck her in at bedtime each
evening.
Disney and “Wish Upon a Star” are two organizations that
truly make every effort to help children attain their
“Wishes.”
